Alex Jones, born Alexander Emric Jones on February 11, 1974, is an American radio host, filmmaker, and [conspiracy theorist](https://doctorparadox.net/why-do-people-believe-conspiracy-theories/). He is best known for his far-right, conspiracy-driven radio show, "The Alex Jones Show," and the associated website, Infowars.com.
## Early life and Infowars.com
Jones was born in Dallas, Texas, and grew up in the suburb of Rockwall. His father, David Jones, was a dentist, and his mother, Carol, was a homemaker. Jones attended Anderson High School in Austin, Texas, where he became interested in journalism and politics.
Jones started his career in the late 1990s, hosting a live call-in public access television show in Austin, Texas. In 1996, he switched to radio and started hosting "The Final Edition" on KJFK. His radio show gained popularity due to his outspoken conspiracy theories and aggressive on-air persona. Jones later launched his own internet-based radio show, "The Alex Jones Show," which eventually led to the creation of his website, Infowars.com, in 1999.
Infowars.com became a popular platform for Jones to share his conspiracy theories and political views. The website featured news, opinion articles, and videos covering a wide range of topics, many of which were controversial and conspiratorial in nature.

Alex Jones has been married twice. He married his first wife, Kelly Jones, in 2000, with whom he has three children. The couple divorced in 2015, and a lengthy custody battle ensued. During the divorce process Jones was evaluated by a psychiatrist who diagnosed him with [narcissistic personality disorder, or NPD](https://doctorparadox.net/psychology/npd-narcissistic-personality-disorder/). In 2017, he married his second wife, Erika Wulff Jones.
